Houston has become a great location for filmmaking, no matter what the production size. With a friendly atmosphere, diverse locations, and talented cast and crews, it’s no wonder Houston is quickly becoming the indie horror film capitol. Check out this feature in the Houston Chronicle’s 29-95 that I helped contribute to.

PAGE PARKES TO STAR IN “SCOUTED”
Houston’s own Page Parkes will star in the new reality series SCOUTED, on E entertainment television. Plucking models from obscurity and launching them to international supermodel stardom has been Page’s business for over 30 years.
Page was my first agent, and modeling was certainly a great experience for me. Congrats Page, and continued success to you.
Series premiere this Monday night at 9 on E.
JULIN GETS HER CAR BACK
A few days ago, I was on FOX helping bring attention to Julin’s carjacking. (If you don’t know, Julin starred in my horror film SPIRIT CAMP). Well, she experience a horror story of her own when a masked man jammed a gun in her face and took her car.
Today she got it back… minus a few items. ABC covered the car’s return. Check it out.

I WAS ON FOX LAST NIGHT
If you missed it, I was on FOX News last night – you can see the full story here. Julin Jean, star of my horror film Spirit Camp was carjacked in the Hieghts area of Houston, and her mini-cooper was stolen. It was like a scene right out of a horror movie.
The perp stuck a gun in Julin’s face, forced her out of the car, and she escaped with a sprained ankle.
She’s lucky to be alive.
Fox did a fun story drawing comparisons between her on screen persona of B movie scream queen, and real life victim. I think it helped bring a little closure and levity to a traumatic experience.
Special thanks to Ned Hibbard for all his support of the community, and his excellent journalism – he always finds a perfect balance of delivering news and making it engaging, entertaining and fun.
